Shalom. A Hebrew word for peace. Not necessarily the absence of war or pain or trouble, but the nearness of God you and I, wherever and however we are.

For Tim, music has always gone together with Shalom – songs that were gentle, true, and had sense of safety about them. In August of 2020, Tim began recording songs like this that he’d written for friends over the past 3-4 years. Now, seven of songs have entered the world for us to share.

Over the last 3-4 years, Tim had written songs for friends who needed music like this – some who were walking and living with anxiety, others who were caught in familial conflicts or going through a job transition, and others for whom sleeping was simply hard.

“I wrote these pieces in my university dorm room here in New Hampshire, at a desk in Scotland, in the back rooms of my church…sometimes prompted by books I was reading, a sermon I heard, or even another song I’d just been singing.

Usually, those songs would just consist of a voice memo on my phone that I’d plop into my desk, hit the red button, play the song, and then text it to whomever I had in mind.

My prayer for Shalom is that is can be company and comfort for anyone listens, whether sleep is hard, or days are anxious, or your life is great and you’d just like something gentle to play while you’re out and about.”

Seven songs, meant first and foremost for these friends I just mentioned, but now, I’m honored…and excited…to share them with you.”
